This group is for photos that are "less than perfect," but that somehow come out better with those imperfections. Whether it's excessive dust on the negative, scratches, "awkward" composition, things not quite in focus, over/underexposed, "bad" lighting, etc., they are welcome here provided that the resulting image is truly something special and interesting. Images that are simply unconventional are also more than welcome. The resulting image could be an accident or quite deliberate. This is a very hard thing to nail down specifically, but if you're interested in these types of images you have undoubtedly seen pictures that while "flawed," somehow really work and are genuinely beautiful.
We're hoping to get a collection going here that shows some of the best of the "bad" on flickr. This is a group that shows how beauty can be achieved in ways that fall outside conventional rules and means in art.
Because we want the best quality possible, this group will be moderated. I shoot both digital and film myself, but the nature of this group will likely be oriented overwhelmingly towards film. However, if you have a digital image that fits within the admittedly vague parameters of the group, please feel free to submit it.
By the way... Please don't feel insulted by being invited to this group. If you're invited it is because your image is beautiful and good :)

Street Composition (Fine Art Street Photography) Pool

In Henri Cartier-Bresson's pre-Magnum days, many of his photos were street photography purely for the sake of abstract composition. The "decisive moment" in those days was not a fleeting emotion or a newsworthy event, it was a moment where the angles and placement of the people, buildings and objects came together as pure aesthetic beauty, a "moment" of still life in the grander world.
This group is about pictures like that. Street, urban and travel photography that is celebrated for the pure aestetics of abstract composition created through the use of the human environment as building blocks of an otherwise fine art photo. It is not just about well composed shots, many good street photos are well composed. This group focuses on the composition as the main subject of the photo, the thing that makes it interesting.
In the beginning, I will edit the group to keep it on topic. As the group grows I may begin editing for quality, but for now, post post post.

If, like me, you're tired of macro flower pictures, lonely landscapes, gross borders, photoshop art, and realize this stuff is a terrible influence on new photographers, here is your remedy.
Tired of Tulips is tightly curated, and offers a majority of the best CANDID imagery of PEOPLE anywhere on Flickr.
1) ONE image per day. This is about quality, not quantity, and the pool can never be more than 1000 images. So only submit your best work.
2) All imagery must be candid, and we lean more toward people "doing" things, rather than just sitting somewhere or looking at something.
If you aren't sure whether an image is up to it, it probably isn't!!!
**If your picture is deleted, please do not re-post it and claim you forgot. That means you didn't think hard enough about your submission. In general, you should know what you have in this gallery because it's only your very best work.
P.S. We have nothing against flowers, especially tulips. HUP HOLLAND HUP!!! ;-)
